Quest 3S Name Seemingly Confirmed in Leaked Meta Support Page

Speculation surrounding Meta’s next headset has been rampant in recent months, with leaks from various sources hinting at what’s to come. A new leak from dataminer Luna appears to confirm the long-rumored name of Meta’s next headset: Quest 3S.

A leaked image from a Meta support page showcases an ‘Action Button’ that allows users to switch between virtual reality and passthrough on the Quest 3S headset with a simple tap.

If the image is authentic, it serves as a solid confirmation of the Quest 3S name amidst a flurry of leaks and rumors.

Earlier this year, a leaked image from a French Meta store landing page hinted at the Quest 3S name. Additionally, an official image of the headset was found in Meta PC client files, suggesting that the leak may have originated from Meta or a close partner.

In May, Meta-owned studio Magnopus listed ‘Quest 3S’ as a supported device in their fitness game Alo Moves XR.

According to rumors, the Quest 3S is expected to feature Fresnel lenses and display similar to the Quest 2, run on the Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 chipset like the Quest 3, and offer color passthrough for mixed reality experiences. It is rumored to be priced at $299 and available in 128GB and 256GB models.

With FCC certification already secured, all eyes are now on the upcoming Connect 2024 event on September 25th-26th for the official reveal of the Quest 3S and confirmation of its specifications.
