PUBG has received an update to version 39.2 on PC today, with consoles set to get the update on January 15th. This update brings intensified environmental conditions introduced in Erangel: Subzero, along with a new danger from the skies in the form of a Satellite Crash Special Zone. Additionally, new gear like the frost zone bomb and thermal protection suit have been added to help players survive the plummeting temperatures. You can find the complete patch notes below.

Erangel: Subzero
Erangel’s harsh cold has intensified, bringing about a range of changes.
Special Zone: Satellite Crash
- The Satellite Crash Special Zone spawns four times per match, mainly within the Safe Zone.
- Players receive a warning message when a Satellite crash is detected.
- Upcoming Special Zone locations are shown on the World Map and Minimap.
- After a brief delay, Satellites crash down along with modules that generate Blue Zone spheres.
- Items can be looted from the crashed Satellites.
- Crashing Satellites deal impact damage.
New Weapon: Frost Zone Bomb
* Not available in Team Deathmatch.
New Item: Thermal Protection Suit
- When worn, the suit blocks a certain amount of Blue Zone damage.
- The suit’s appearance changes based on durability.
- When worn with the Jammer Pack, anti-Blue Zone protection is cumulative.
- The suit spawns only from Satellites.
Weather
- Blizzards sweep across the map, covering Erangel in white and making the climate more unforgiving.
- Applies to Normal Match, Ranked, and Custom Match.
World: Rondo
Following recent changes to Rondo, item spawns across the map have been rebalanced for a smoother looting experience.
Spawn Changes
- Spawn rates for various world spawn items have been adjusted to match other 8×8 km maps.
- Weapon, attachment, and Throwable spawns inside Secret Rooms have been increased.
- Inflatable Boat spawn spots and quantity have been reduced.
(PC) New Feature: Secondary Password
* The following updates apply to all PC platforms.
Setup & Usage Guide
- The secondary password must be a 6-8 digit number, and SMS authentication is required for setup and resets.
- Accounts with a secondary password will need to verify it every 24 hours when entering the lobby.
