PS5 System Software Update Introduces Exciting New Features

Attention all PlayStation 5 owners, there’s a brand new system software update available now that brings a host of exciting features to your console. From a new Welcome hub to party sharing and personalised 3D audio profiles, this update is sure to enhance your gaming experience.

The Welcome hub is a customizable space that is currently available for select players in the US and will be rolling out globally over the next few weeks. This new feature allows you to personalize your PS5 home screen with widgets and backgrounds, making it easier to access important information like battery monitoring and your trophy collection. Say goodbye to the old Explore tab and hello to a more engaging and personalized experience.

Another exciting addition is party sharing, which enables you to share chat links on different platforms and invite others to join voice chats via their smartphone or PS5, regardless of whether they are on your friends list or not. This feature will be gradually rolled out in the coming weeks.

Additionally, the update includes the long-awaited personalized 3D audio for headphones and earbuds, allowing you to tailor the spatial audio to your specific hearing profile. This feature has been in development since the launch of the PS5 and eliminates the need for scanning ears with photos, a method considered by other companies like Apple for Bluetooth earbuds.

Other notable features in the update include adaptive controller charging on the PS5 Slim and upcoming PS5 Pro, as well as per-user Remote Play settings.

Don’t wait any longer, download the update now to enjoy these new features. Keep in mind that some features may take a bit longer to roll out completely.
