Sony has announced new PS5 price increase for the hardware in the United States, months after increasing pricing elsewhere in the world.

The new price increases, which see each different PlayStation 5 SKU priced at $50 more, is due to a “challenging economic environment.” The new pricing takes effect tomorrow, August 21st.

Here are the new prices:

  • PlayStation 5 – $549.99 (up from $499.99)

  • PlayStation 5 Digital Edition – $499.99 (up from $449.99)

  • PlayStation 5 Pro – $749.99 (up from $699.99)

Pricing on PlayStation 5 accessories won’t be affected by the new changes.
