The Pokemon Company and Aardman have announced an unexpected collaboration for a special project, although details are scarce and the release date is far off.
Aardman is renowned for its unique animation style, highlighted in projects like the Star Wars Visions episode they worked on. The partnership with The Pokemon Company has sparked excitement, with fans eager to see what they produce together, whether it’s a film or TV show.
Taito Okiura, VP of marketing and media at The Pokemon Company, expressed excitement about the partnership, stating, “This is a dream partnership for Pokémon. Aardman are masters of their craft, and we have been blown away by their talent and creativity. What we have been working on together ensures our global Pokémon fans are in for a treat!”
Sean Clarke, managing director of Aardman, also shared his enthusiasm for the collaboration, calling it a “huge honour” to work with The Pokémon Company International and bring their characters to life in a new way.
While the nature of the project remains a mystery, fans speculate whether it could be a game, given Aardman’s experience with titles like 11-11: Memories Retold. Regardless, this stop-motion project follows last year’s Pokemon Concierge and promises a unique take on the beloved franchise.
