Well, g’day mate! Unless you’re Aussie, in which case, maybe refrain from rooting your toots. But hey, rejoice as the original Red Dead Redemption is finally making its way to PC. This exciting news comes from a listing on the PlayStation Store, boldly stating “now on PC for the first time ever.”
“Red Dead Redemption will include all the console version upgrades from 2023, along with PC-specific enhancements like support for higher resolutions and framerates, multi-display capabilities, and spatial surround sound.” It’s pretty much a done deal at this point!
Earlier this year, some leaked information hinted at this PC release. Fans have been eagerly awaiting the arrival of this beloved open-world game on PC, and it seems like the time has finally come.
If you missed out on the original Red Dead (not the *original* original Red Dead), it offers a more light-hearted take on the Wild West, with strong writing that still holds up today. And let’s not forget about the fantastic Undead Nightmare expansion, where John Marston battles zombies in a thrilling turf war. While RPS never got around to reviewing the first Redemption game, I highly recommend checking out Matthew Castle’s (RPS in Peace) excellent review of Red Dead Redemption 2. It’s definitely worth a read, especially for the captivating header screenshot.
