Phasmophobia will be getting a sound recorder, evidence revamp, and more with its Chronicle update next month

The upcoming Phasmophobia update, Chronicle, is set to be released on June 24th, as announced by developer Kinetic Games. This update is said to be one of the game’s “biggest updates” yet, and it brings some exciting new features. One of the key additions is the introduction of sound evidence, which players can collect using the new sound recorder.

Along with the addition of sound evidence, the journal has undergone a complete redesign. The photos tab has been replaced with a media tab, where players can organize photos, videos, and sound recordings. To conduct a perfect investigation, players must fill their journal with unique media, including capturing new events like EMF spikes, interactions with objects like rocking chairs, and encountering different ghost forms.

The media quality system has also been revamped in this update. When players capture their first piece of evidence in any media type, it will be marked as unique, allowing them to earn bonus rewards once they complete a contract. Additionally, several bug fixes will be included in this update.

Following the release of Chronicle, players can look forward to a rework of Grafton Farmhouse. Kinetic Games has overhauled the entire map, introducing re-themed rooms, adjustments to room sizes, and a new “crowded attic” filled with old furniture covered in sheets.

Earlier this year, Kinetic Games outlined their plans for the future of Phasmophobia, which includes the introduction of more maps, map reworks, and the highly anticipated Horror 2.0 update, marking the full release of the horror game.
