Persona 5 is getting a new spinoff on mobile and PC

Today, Atlus announced a new addition to the Persona series, titled Persona 5: The Phantom X. This spinoff game is set to launch on both mobile and PC on June 26th, offering fans a new story within the familiar universe of Persona 5.

In The Phantom X, players will follow a new main character leading a fresh group of Phantom Thieves in a mysterious Tokyo where desires have gone missing. The game will blend the traditional Persona experience of balancing high school life with nighttime dungeon exploration, along with turn-based combat and a unique “synergy system” for forming bonds with NPCs.

Multiplayer elements such as guilds will also be included, allowing players to interact within the game world. The Phantom X aims to combine the beloved single-player RPG style of the franchise with live-service mobile gaming features, although it remains to be seen how well these elements will harmonize. The game’s payment model is still unknown, but fans can hope that it will retain some beloved features like curry.

While some may be disappointed by the absence of news about Persona 6, The Phantom X appears to be a visually appealing and potentially engaging installment that can offer fans a fresh experience while they wait for the next mainline release.
