One year on from Citizen Sleeper 2, I’m tempted back into its world with a physical release of its TTRPG spin-off

Crafting a captivating world that beckons exploration can be quite challenging, especially when the setting is less than ideal. Citizen Sleeper’s world, however, manages to combine grand sci-fi concepts with a grounded sense of reality, making it a standout in the cyberpunk genre. A year after the release of the second game, I find myself drawn back to it, this time in its tabletop RPG form.

Citizen Sleeper: Spindlejack, originally released as a free mini-RPG last May, is now being transformed into a physical tabletop game by Lost in Cult. Set in a specific corner of the Citizen Sleeper 2 world known as the Far Spindle, players navigate this world on airbikes, taking on challenging deliveries for rewards like cryo and reputation.

The physical version of Spindlejack includes 10 themed D6 dice, informative papers, stickers, and additional modules. Sprocket’s Shop introduces new upgrades and items for added gameplay depth, while Kadet’s Climb allows players to experience a story where they embody Kadet from the original game, striving to become one of the station’s top delivery couriers.

While the physical version may be tempting, the game is still available for free on itch.io, ensuring no one misses out on the fun. If you’re interested in diving into this immersive world, you can access the game through this link.
