Nvidia’s upcoming budget GPUs could be underwhelming for gamers

Nvidia has not officially confirmed the existence of entry-level GPUs in its latest RTX 50 series. However, recent leaks have shed light on the expected specifications of the upcoming RTX 5050, 5060, and 5060 Ti GPUs. These new models are anticipated to be announced soon, with reports suggesting that Nvidia is planning to unveil additional RTX 50 series GPUs within the next 10 days.

According to @kopite7kimi, a reliable leaker, the RTX 5060 and RTX 5060 Ti will be based on the GB206-300 GPU die, while the RTX 5050 will utilize the GB207-300 chip. The RTX 5060 Ti is expected to feature 4,608 CUDA cores, a slight 5.7% increase from its predecessor, the RTX 4060 Ti.

The RTX 5050 marks the return of Nvidia’s 50-class GPU lineup, previously seen with the RTX 3050. While the RTX 5060 and 5060 Ti will benefit from a 128-bit memory interface with improved bandwidth, the RTX 5050 will stick with GDDR6 memory. It is expected to offer 2,560 CUDA cores and a 130W TDP.

The RTX 50 series, which includes models like the RTX 5090, 5080, 5070 Ti, and 5070, has faced challenges due to limited availability and high prices. Concerns have also been raised about compatibility issues with the flagship RTX 5090, as well as reports of performance issues with certain RTX 50 GPUs.
