The GeForce RTX 50 series – Nvidia’s controversial yet popular family of gaming GPUs – is set to be complete with the upcoming releases of the RTX 5060 and RTX 5060 Ti. These new models are expected to replace the RTX 4060 and RTX 4060 Ti, offering moderate performance improvements along with features like DLSS 4 and Multi Frame Generation. Notably, the RTX 5060 Ti will have a lower MSRP compared to its predecessor, with both 8GB and 16GB variants.
While there won’t be a Founders Edition for these GPUs, partner versions of the 8GB RTX 5060 Ti will start at £349 / $379, which is £40 / $20 less than the 8GB 4060 Ti. The base-price 16GB models will be priced at £399 / $429, shedding £80 / $70 from the previous generation. Official launch for both models is scheduled for Wednesday, April 16th, although some 8GB RTX 5060 Ti models may not be available immediately.
As for the RTX 5060, it will only come in an 8GB configuration and is expected to launch in May for $299 (UK pricing to be confirmed). With the same amount of VRAM as the RTX 4060, it is likely to be suitable for 1080p gaming. The use of newer GDDR7 memory sets it apart from its predecessor as well as the RTX 5060 Ti.
Nvidia has provided benchmark graphs for the RTX 5060 Ti, showcasing the performance improvements over the previous generation. The inclusion of AI-generated frames through MFG complicates direct comparisons, but the overall performance boost is estimated to be around 20%. The RTX 5060 Ti is positioned as a significant upgrade, offering better performance than its predecessor.
The RTX 5060 Ti and RTX 5060 are expected to offer improved frame rates and better overall gaming performance. The inclusion of new technologies like MFG and DLSS 4 enhances the gaming experience, making these GPUs a compelling choice for gamers looking to upgrade their systems.
