Exciting news for gamers – the Nintendo Switch 2 may be on the horizon! Accessories manufacturer Genki has unveiled dummy models of the console at CES 2025, hinting at a possible April launch.
Thanks to companies like Genki, we can expect a range of accessories to accompany the new hardware. The French site Numerama got a hands-on look at one of the dummy models and reported that the console is slated for an April release.
While leaks about the Switch 2 have been circulating, Genki’s openness about the console suggests they have no formal contract with Nintendo to worry about breaking.
The dummy models reveal a larger design than the original Switch, with magnetic joy-cons, an optical sensor, an extra “C” button on one joy-con, and an additional USB port on top.
Interestingly, reports suggest that a real Switch 2 may already be available on the black market for those willing to pay. This revelation could raise concerns for Nintendo.
VG247 has reached out to Nintendo for comment on these developments.
For handheld gaming enthusiasts tired of the Switch 2 rumors, the recently revealed Atari Gamestation Go could be worth exploring.
