Following Samsung Unpacked, many anticipated the next big phone launch to be the Pixel 10. However, Evan Blass, also known as evleaks, posted a cryptic message on X hinting at something different from Motorola with the phrase “RAZR-ovski” and the date 5 August.
After some speculation, it seems that ‘ovski’ could refer to Swarovski, a renowned brand known for crystals and rhinestones. This aligns with Motorola’s past collaboration with Swarovski on special edition wireless earbuds like the Moto Buds Loop.
The upcoming Razr flip phone may be the next device to receive the Swarovski treatment, following in the footsteps of Honor’s V Purse concept phone. While sparkly headphones may have their appeal, the question remains whether consumers will embrace a phone adorned with crystals.
Considering the resurgence of ’90s and Y2K fashion trends, especially among Gen Z, bejeweled flip phones could potentially become the next viral sensation. Perhaps this trend will follow the recent BlackBerry revival and make waves on platforms like TikTok.
It’s unlikely that the Razr-ovski will be a completely new model, given Motorola’s recent Razr 60 series launch. Instead, it’s likely to be a special or limited edition variant, possibly the Razr 60 Ultra.
