Are you still experiencing performance issues with Monster Hunter Wilds on PC despite numerous patches promising to improve its framerate? The good news is that Capcom is dedicated to releasing performance and stability updates for the game until at least Winter 2025. However, the bad news is that these improvements may not be fully implemented until Winter 2025 at the earliest.
In a recent post discussing the upcoming version 1.021 update, game director Yuya Tokuda outlined Capcom’s plans for the PC version, focusing on reducing Wilds’ CPU load. This change aims to protect players’ hardware by decreasing the strain on CPUs during gameplay, potentially leading to improved performance. However, Tokuda mentioned that this specific optimization will be part of Title Update 4, scheduled for release between November and January. The 1.021 update itself does not include significant performance enhancements.
Furthermore, this CPU optimization is just the first phase of Capcom’s plan. Tokuda mentioned that a second stage of mitigation measures will follow once the initial implementation is completed.
But that’s not all – Tokuda also hinted at future patches that will address GPU load reduction in a similar manner. While players may have hoped for immediate improvements, it seems they will have to wait for Capcom to continue fine-tuning the game. Despite some progress, Wilds still struggles to run smoothly even on high-end graphics cards, and some of Capcom’s previous attempts to improve performance have fallen short.
Will these upcoming patches be more successful? Only time will tell. Tokuda’s cautionary words about adjusting graphics options to optimize CPU performance suggest that players may need to make some tweaks on their end as well.
It’s easy to feel frustrated by ongoing performance issues, but perhaps there’s room for improvement on both ends – from Capcom’s ongoing updates to players’ own settings adjustments. Only time will tell if Monster Hunter Wilds on PC can reach its full potential.
