Marvel is set to revive their iconic Swimsuit Special comics, bringing back the fan-favorite pin-up artwork of beloved characters just in time for some new tie-in skins for Marvel Rivals.
Originally published in the 1990s, the Marvel Swimsuit Specials were known for their playful and fan-service-driven content, featuring popular characters in swimsuit attire. Despite facing some criticism, the series garnered a dedicated fan base during its five-year run.
After unsuccessful attempts to revive the series in the past, Marvel has finally announced the upcoming release of MARVEL SWIMSUIT SPECIAL: FRIENDS, FOES & RIVALS #1 in July. This issue will not only pay homage to the original concept but also provide a sneak peek at new costumes for Marvel Rivals.
The new issue will feature a story by Tim Seeley and Tony Fleecs, with art by Nick Bradshaw, showcasing Earth’s Mightiest fashion designer, Janet Van Dyne. Fans can also expect stunning artwork from acclaimed artists like Nic Klein, Marguerite Sauvage, Luciano Vecchio, and more.
Marvel Rivals has gained popularity for its bold character designs, alternate costumes, and enticing fanservice elements, which have contributed to its growing success and appeal among gamers.
Marvel Rivals is now available on various platforms including Windows PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5.
