Skydance Games Delays Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra to 2026

Skydance Games recently announced that the highly anticipated Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra has been delayed to early 2026. The team shared the update on social media, citing the need for additional time to polish the game and deliver the best possible experience to players.

The superhero game, led by Amy Hennig, was first unveiled in March of last year after being teased in 2021. Originally set to be published by Plaion with a target launch year of 2025, the game’s development timeline has shifted. While a cinematic reveal trailer was released last summer, details about the gameplay have been scarce. Fans may potentially see a gameplay reveal this summer, but the exact release date remains uncertain.

Despite the delay, taking the time to perfect the game is crucial for ensuring its quality. However, the extended development timeline may risk overlapping with the release of other highly anticipated titles, such as GTA 6, which has also been delayed to May 2026.

Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra will transport players back to World War 2, offering four playable characters: Captain America, Black Panther, Nanali, and Gabriel Jones. Each character will provide unique gameplay experiences, with Nanali focusing more on stealth and espionage compared to the others.

The game boasts an impressive cast of voice actors, including Khary Payton as Azzuri, Drew Moerlein as Steve Rogers/Captain America, Megalyn Echikunwoke as Nanali, Marque Richardson as Gabriel Jones, Lyne Renée as Julie, and Joel Johnstone as Howard Stark.
