Artificial Intelligence in Education: A Game-Changer in the Classroom
In brief: Artificial intelligence is revolutionizing the education sector, with teachers both embracing and resisting its influence. While some educators are grappling with AI-generated assignments, others are harnessing this emerging technology to streamline their workflow.
Recent data from a Gallup study revealed that six out of 10 teachers in US public K-12 schools utilized AI tools during the 2024-2025 academic year. These tools were primarily used for preparing lesson plans, creating worksheets, and adapting materials to cater to students’ individual needs.
Furthermore, a significant number of teachers reported using AI on a weekly basis for various teaching tasks, citing time-saving benefits. On average, educators using AI tools weekly saved an estimated 5.9 hours per week, allowing them to focus on providing personalized feedback and enhancing lesson plans.
Teachers also noted that AI improved the overall quality of their work, particularly in grading, feedback, and administrative duties. The data indicates that consistent use of AI tools correlates with higher work quality compared to sporadic use.

As the 2025-2026 school year approaches, it is evident that AI is becoming an integral part of education. Both teachers and students are increasingly adopting this technology, signaling a continued integration of AI in the educational landscape.
