London Couple Use an AirTag to Steal Their Car Back After Cops Wouldn’t Budge

AirTag helps couple find Jaguar 2

A London couple managed to recover their nearly $60,000 luxury vehicle on their own using an AirTag hidden inside, after the police refused to help despite being given the exact location of the car.

Mia Forbes Pirie and Mark Simpson woke up one morning in Hammersmith to find their Jaguar E-Pace missing. They immediately contacted the police, but received a vague response. Even after informing the police about the AirTag tracker in the car and providing the location, the police did not take action. So, the couple decided to retrieve the car themselves.

Using the AirTag tracker, the couple located the car in Chiswick and went to get it. Fortunately, the thieves were not there, and the couple was able to start the vehicle and drive it home. It turned out that the thieves had disabled the standard immobilizer but could not bypass a second immobilizer installed by the couple.

AirTags have become popular for tracking lost or stolen items, including vehicles. While it is not recommended to confront thieves, the couple’s determination paid off in this case. Hopefully, others in similar situations will receive better assistance from law enforcement.
