Konami Aims to Release a Silent Hill Game Annually
Producer Motoi Okamoto from Konami’s Silent Hill franchise has expressed the company’s goal of releasing a new Silent Hill game every year. Okamoto stated, “Following the success of Silent Hill 2 in October 2024, we were able to bring Silent Hill f to fans in September 2025, signaling the revival of the Silent Hill series. Our target is to launch approximately one title per year, encompassing both announced and unannounced projects. While the feasibility of this plan remains uncertain, we are committed to giving our best effort as the stewards of the Silent Hill legacy. Our ultimate aim is to maintain a continuous buzz around Silent Hill, and we pledge to keep fans updated with the latest developments.”
Among the projects in the pipeline are Silent Hill Townfall, currently in development by No Code, and a remake of the original Silent Hill by Bloober Team. Additionally, there was anticipation for a new Silent Hill film slated for release in 2025, although recent developments cast doubt on its arrival. Bloober Team’s announcement of the Silent Hill remake in June 2025, after three years of work, raised some eyebrows regarding the decision to start with Silent Hill 2. However, Konami likely had valid reasons for this choice.
Konami’s strategy seems to involve collaborating with various development teams to produce Silent Hill games, suggesting a departure from the classic Silent Hill formula in some instances.
In a glowing review, Nick praised Silent Hill f, awarding it a perfect 10/10 score. He remarked, “Silent Hill f not only marks a triumphant return for the series but stands as a pivotal addition to its legacy. Konami, NeoBards, and Ryukishi07 have truly excelled. To me, this isn’t just a contender for Game of the Year; it represents a crucial chapter in Silent Hill’s history.”
