Jurassic World Evolution 3’s first new species revealed as the Lokiceratops

New Dinosaur Species Revealed for Jurassic World Evolution 3

With the highly anticipated release of Jurassic World Evolution 3 scheduled for October, Frontier has unveiled some exciting new gameplay features and a brand new dinosaur species making its debut in the game: the Lokiceratops.

Named after the Norse god Loki, the Lokiceratops is not just a tribute to the charming Tom Hiddlestone. Its name actually comes from the unique horns that adorn its frill. Discovered in 2019 in northern Montana, this late Cretaceous herbivore bears some resemblance to the iconic Triceratops.

In the game, players will have the task of caring for Lokiceratops in family units, providing them with nests and privacy for breeding. Unlike in the past, there will be no frog DNA manipulation involved. These dinosaurs require ample space and vegetation to thrive, and players must ensure their needs are met to keep them content.

Lokiceratops can coexist in small groups with other herbivores and ceratopsids, working together to protect their young from potential threats. This new addition to the Jurassic World Evolution 3 roster promises unique gameplay opportunities and challenges for players to navigate.

Jurassic World Evolution 3 is set to launch on October 21, 2025, across PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. With the previous installment receiving high praise, anticipation is mounting for the next chapter in the series.

According to a review, “Jurassic World Evolution 2 is bigger, better, and bolder, and smooths off some of the original’s rough edges. Frontier has tinkered with the management sim aspects, and brought in a canonical campaign into the mix that follows directly on from the events in Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom, but the dinosaurs remain the star of the show. If you’re a fan of the franchise – and really, who doesn’t love uncontrollable carnivores? – then Jurassic World Evolution 2 is a perfect sequel.”
