Jade Raymond Departs Sony’s Haven Studios

Jade Raymond has left Sony’s Haven Studios, the developer she founded in 2021, before the completion of their first title, Fairgames (stylized as Fairgame$) for PlayStation.

According to Bloomberg, her departure came without a reason given by PlayStation leadership, following an external test of Fairgames. The team at Haven Studios is reportedly concerned about the game’s reception and progress.

A PlayStation spokesperson confirmed Raymond’s departure, praising her leadership and contributions to Haven Studios. The studio will now be led by co-studio heads Marie-Eve Danis and Pierre-François Sapinski.

Fairgames, announced in 2023 for PlayStation and PC, is a live service title approved during Jim Ryan’s time. The game features multiplayer heist elements in a high-tech setting.

Jade Raymond is a prominent figure in the gaming industry, known for founding and leading various studios. She has worked on major franchises like Assassin’s Creed and Watch Dogs before founding Motive Studios at EA. After a stint at Google’s Stadia Games and Entertainment, she founded Haven Studios with Sony’s support.

While the fate of Fairgames remains uncertain, Raymond’s track record in the industry suggests a promising future despite challenges.
