iOS 26 Lets You Add Calendar Events from a Screenshot | Here’s How

Apple’s iOS 26 introduces exciting new features, including a transparent Liquid Glass design and enhanced privacy measures. One of the lesser-known but highly useful additions is the ability to add events to the Calendar app using screenshots on iPhone models 15 Pro and newer. This feature leverages visual intelligence, part of Apple’s AI suite, which now extends to screenshots in iOS 26.

Previously exclusive to real-world images captured by the camera, visual intelligence now analyzes screenshots for event details. When you capture a screenshot containing event information, iOS 26 prompts you to add it to your calendar with a simple tap.

The update changes how screenshots are displayed, opting for a full-screen view instead of a thumbnail. This change ensures quick access to visual intelligence features like asking questions or initiating searches based on the screenshot content.

Whether it’s an email, social media post, text conversation, or webpage, you can now add calendar events directly from any screenshot on your iPhone. The process is streamlined, allowing you to edit event details or create the event with a single tap.

You can revert to the classic thumbnail display for screenshots by disabling “Full-Screen Previews” in Settings > General > Screen Capture. This doesn’t disable visual intelligence but reverts to the familiar thumbnail behavior from earlier iOS versions.

Try out this feature to efficiently manage your calendar using screenshots on iOS 26.
