Pokemania seems to be at its peak, with Pokemon fans bidding significant amounts on a Charizard-shaped Flamin’ Hot Cheeto.
Pokemon has a massive following, and many of us have been caught up in Pokemania at some point. Personally, I’ve moved on from the franchise after being disappointed by Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. However, I still enjoy playing some of the older titles and occasionally dabbling in the trading card game. But spending over $4000 on a Flamin’ Hot Cheeto shaped like Charizard? That’s a bit hard to comprehend.
This may sound like a satirical story, but it’s a real auction item available on Goldin, a leading auction house for trading cards and collectibles. The resemblance of the Flamin’ Hot Cheeto to Charizard is uncanny, with its head, wings, tail, and even limbs all resembling the iconic Pokemon. The seller has cleverly named it “Cheetozard” and framed it like a Pokemon card.
The fact that there’s a bid of $4250 for a seven-year-old Flamin’ Hot Cheeto is mind-boggling. But to each their own, I suppose.
Meanwhile, for the rest of us Pokemon fans, there’s a new Pokemon Presents presentation scheduled for next week’s Pokemon Day. This event will likely give us more insight into Pokemon Legends: Z-A, so be sure to tune in if you’re eager to learn more.
