NFL (American Football) is making its return for another season, and for the year 2025, the options for watching and streaming it in the UK have expanded significantly.
With Channel 5’s extended coverage, viewers can now enjoy Sunday games for free, while Sky Sports has also increased its NFL offerings with nearly 50% more games.
Additionally, there are various other options available, such as the official NFL Game Pass on DAZN, Amazon Prime Video, and YouTube add-ons, catering to different preferences and devices for watching.
While it may be less complicated than watching in the USA, viewers in the UK still need to make choices when it comes to streaming NFL games, considering the different features and prices offered by each service.
This guide will walk you through all the options so you can enjoy all the NFL action you desire, whether you prefer watching via Sky on TV or streaming on Game Pass on your mobile or tablet.

Live stream on NFL Game Pass with DAZN
The NFL Game Pass serves as the official online streaming service for the sport in the UK, akin to Netflix but for American football. It offers the option to watch games live or on-demand throughout the season, accessible via the web or various devices using the app.
Game Pass is now available on DAZN, a global sports streaming service, and is not limited to the UK alone (excluding the USA and China). The service includes US broadcast for commentary and halftime analysis, as well as NFL shows like Hard Knocks and A Football Life, with games available for download and offline viewing.
DAZN is compatible with a range of devices, featuring apps for Android, iOS, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Google Chromecast, and gaming consoles like the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.
For the 2025 season, Game Pass offers a Season Pro Ultimate option as the new premium subscription, providing exclusive features such as Multiview (up to 4 games at once), streaming on 5 devices in 2 locations simultaneously, HDR & Dolby 5.1 Surround Sound (select games), alternative feeds like ManningCast, Prime Vision, and Slimetime, a 20% one-time code for NFL Shop, and an exclusive ballot for international NFL tickets.
Subscription plans for Season Pro and Season Pro Ultimate are available on an annual, monthly, or weekly basis, with prices as follows:
- Weekly Pro – £15.99 per week
- Weekly Pro Ultimate – £17.99 per week
- Season Pro – £17.99 per month
- Season Pro Ultimate – £19.99 per month
- Season Pro annual – £169.99
- Season Pro Ultimate annual – £189.99
Regardless of the plan chosen, subscribers gain access to regular season and postseason games, the Super Bowl, live RedZone, and more, including NFL Draft rounds 1-7 live, previous season highlights and full game replays, NFL originals & programs like Hard Knocks.
What are NFL Blackout games?
One notable aspect of Game Pass is that not every game is available live due to broadcasting blackout rules. Certain games have priority on Sky Sports, causing a 24-hour delay for viewing on Game Pass.
According to DAZN, this blackout rule applies to two Sunday games each week (one at 6 pm and one at 9 pm kickoff). However, specific games are exempt from blackout, including all Monday, Thursday, and Sunday night games, U.S. Thanksgiving Day games, Playoff games, Super Bowl LIX, and any postseason games.
While blackouts are a downside, Game Pass can be used abroad without the need for a VPN, except in the US and China.
How to watch NFL for free (Channel 5)
For UK NFL fans looking for a more affordable option, Channel 5 has expanded its coverage of the sport. In addition to showing free-to-air games on Monday nights, Channel 5 now offers NFL games on Sundays as well.
The new coverage includes 6 pm and 9 pm kickoffs, with priority picks by Sky Sports for those slots. The later kickoff will be on 5 Action, a digital-only channel.
Hosted by Dermot O’Leary, Sam Quek, and Osi Umenyiora, Channel 5’s NFL coverage introduces a new format called ‘NFL: Big Game Night’, involving teams of friends and family competing in the studio.
Throughout the 2025 season, Channel 5 will also broadcast International NFL London and Dublin Games, Thanksgiving Day specials, three playoff games, and Super Bowl 2026, all free-to-air.
NFL Game Pass on Amazon Prime Video and YouTube
New for this year is the option to watch Game Pass on Amazon Prime Video (200+ games) or YouTube (250+ games) as an add-on channel subscription.
On YouTube, the subscription costs £31.99 per month or £169.99 for the season, with restrictions on using the DAZN app.
Meanwhile, Game Pass on Amazon Prime Video is available in several countries, priced at £31.99 per month, cancel anytime.
For the best value, the full season option on YouTube is recommended.
Watch NFL on Sky Sports
Sky remains the primary broadcaster for watching NFL on television in the UK, offering a dedicated channel for NFL games (Sky 407 / Virgin Media 507) in addition to Main Event coverage.
With a new three-year deal, Sky has expanded its NFL coverage significantly, showcasing nearly 50% more games. Sky has the first pick of games at 6 pm and 9 pm kickoffs, with additional games on channels like Sky Sports+ and Mix.
Viewers can enjoy features like Thursday Night Football, Sunday Night games, Monday Night Football, Live NFL RedZone, Thanksgiving games, playoffs, Pro Bowl, Super Bowl, Fantasy Live, NFL Network content, and more.
Sky customers can tune into the NFL channel or use Sky Go to watch games live. Alternatively, viewers can opt for Now Sports membership to watch on various devices, including smartphones and consoles.
Now offers different membership plans, starting at £14.99 for a Day Membership and £34.99 for a Month Membership, with options for Full HD quality and streaming on multiple devices simultaneously.
Where to watch NFL in the US without cable
While this guide focuses on the UK, watching NFL games in the US without cable can be challenging due to multiple broadcasting channels. However, options like NFL+ (Game Pass in the UK), SlingTV, YouTube TV, Hulu+ Live TV, and Peacock via NBCUniversal are available.
For US viewers, using a digital antenna is the simplest and most cost-effective way to watch NFL games on TV, as major networks like CBS, Fox, NBC, and CBS broadcast games for free on Sundays.
Watch NFL abroad with a VPN
Viewers outside the UK can use VPN services like NordVPN to mask their IP address and access UK-based streaming services like Sky Go and Channel 5 from abroad.
Similarly, VPNs can be used to access US services, although watching NFL from the UK is often easier and more affordable.
