I had the opportunity to review the impressive Ugreen NASync DXP4800 Plus last November. Having been using the Ugreen NASync DH4300 Plus with the stock UGOS software, I decided to migrate my old TerraMaster F4-421 running Unraid to the Ugreen.
The Ugreen NASync DXP4800 Plus boasts a significantly more powerful CPU with Intel QuickSync support, dual M.2 NVMe drives for caching, and a 10GbE port. This makes it an ideal choice for a media server for applications like Plex or Jellyfin.
Instead of using Docker to set up UGOS with the applications I needed, I opted to use Unraid. Since all my files were already on an existing Unraid array, I simply needed to swap the disks over. Unraid supports a wide range of applications via the Community Apps Store, making it much easier to use than manually setting up Docker containers.
The Ugreen NASync DXP4800 Plus comes with impressive specifications:
– Model: DXP4800 Plus
– Price: £539.99
– Drive Bays: 6 (4+2)
– SATA Hard Drive Slots: SATA 4-Bays
– M.2 NVMe Drive Slots: 2x M.2 Slots

Installing Unraid on the Ugreen NASync DXP4800 Plus is a relatively simple process, albeit slightly more involved than converting TerraMaster to Unraid. It involves setting up Unraid on a USB drive and making some BIOS changes to ensure smooth operation.
Overall, converting the Intel-based Ugreen NASs to Unraid is straightforward, and these systems offer excellent hardware at a reasonable price in a sleek form factor. If you’re looking for a powerful NAS solution with great features, the Ugreen NASync DXP4800 Plus is definitely worth considering.
