The Honor Magic 8 Pro, the latest flagship phone from Honor, has been unveiled with a range of impressive features.
Following the footsteps of the Honor Magic 7 Pro, the Honor Magic 8 Pro features a familiar design with the company’s signature ‘squircle’ camera module and rounded rear panel.
Despite its familiar design, the Honor Magic 8 Pro is slightly smaller in size, measuring 161.15 x 75 x 8.4mm and weighing 213g (10g lighter than its predecessor).
The phone sports a 6.71-inch OLED display with a resolution of 1256 x 2808, a refresh rate of 1 to 120Hz (courtesy of LTPO technology), 4320Hz PWM Dimming, and a peak HDR brightness of 6,000 nits. In high brightness mode, it can reach up to 1,800 nits.
For durability, the Honor Magic 8 Pro comes with IP69K water resistance rating in addition to the previous IP68 and IP69 ratings. It is also certified with SGS 5-Star Drop Resistance Certification.
Honor Magic 8 Pro performance and camera
The performance of the Honor Magic 8 Pro is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, paired with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. The phone features a triple camera system, including a 50Mp main camera, a 50Mp ultra-wide camera, and a 200Mp periscope telephoto camera.
The phone’s camera setup includes a SuperNight Camera for improved low-light performance. Additionally, the Magic Colour feature offers AI-powered color tuning for photos in real time.
On the front, there is a 50Mp selfie camera with a 3D ToF sensor for secure facial recognition.
Honor Magic 8 Pro battery and software
Despite its smaller size, the Honor Magic 8 Pro packs a 6,270mAh battery, supporting 100W wired charging and 80W wireless charging. The phone boasts AI features such as AI Deepfake Detection and AI Voice Cloning Detection for added security.
The MagicOS 10 offers new AI integration and promises seven years of OS and security updates.
Honor Magic 8 Pro price and availability
The Honor Magic 8 Pro is available for purchase on the Honor website and from third-party retailers. It comes in Sunrise Gold, Sky Cyan, or Black color options and is priced at £1,099.99 with a £200 early bird discount.
Comparing to other flagship phones, the Honor Magic 8 Pro is priced similarly to the Oppo Find X9 Pro but undercuts the iPhone 17 Pro Max and Google Pixel 10 Pro XL.
