McFadden will also announce plans for the UK to invest in Ukrainian cyber defenses, Moldovan election protection, and AI security research. The government aims to support Ukraine in defending against Russian cyber-attacks and safeguard Moldovan elections from disinformation campaigns.
Furthermore, the UK government recognizes the growth potential of cyber technology across various regions, with a focus on creating jobs and stimulating economic opportunities. The North West of England, in particular, has seen significant growth in the cyber security sector, with collaborations between universities and high-tech businesses driving innovation and development.
