The firmware version BP2A.250805.005 is now available for Pixel 6 to Pixel 9 series devices, enhancing security measures against potential vulnerabilities.
Although no significant features are introduced, the update includes essential bug fixes. One such fix addresses a critical security vulnerability that could allow remote code execution on a Pixel device without user interaction.

Minor Pixel fixes
Additionally, the update includes two minor fixes. One resolves an issue related to the scheduled dark theme activation, while the other addresses problems with the back command in both three-button and gesture navigation.
While not the most exciting update, it is advisable to install it promptly. If the update prompt is not received, users can manually check for updates in Settings > System > Software updates > System update.
Google plans to roll out the update gradually based on mobile network operator and device, marking it as the final major update before the upcoming Pixel 10 series launch on August 20. Expect improvements in processing speed, an additional camera (in some models), and Qi2 compatibility.
