GeForce Now launches on Steam Deck, Nvidia promises fast, power-saving gameplay

Cloud Gaming on the Go: GeForce Now Arrives on Steam Deck

Nvidia has officially launched its native app for GeForce Now on Valve’s Steam Deck, bringing significant performance and framerate improvements while cutting energy consumption. This announcement follows Nvidia’s initial reveal of the app at CES earlier this year.

The GeForce Now app allows users to stream games on any Steam Deck model at up to 4K resolution and 60 frames per second when connected to an external display. Nvidia promises a full gaming experience with features like HDR10, DLSS 4, and Nvidia Reflex.

The company claims that GeForce Now can deliver graphics and performance comparable to a high-end GeForce RTX 4080 GPU, all on a portable device that won’t overheat. This service also enables Steam Deck owners to play graphically-demanding titles that would not be possible to run natively on the device.

The GeForce Now app is now available for download from Nvidia’s website, along with a step-by-step installation guide. It’s important to note that the app must be installed in Desktop Mode and cannot be set up through the Steam Deck’s built-in web browser.

Additionally, Nvidia has added six new titles to the GeForce Now library, including Nice Day for Fishing, Cash Cleaner Simulator, Tokyo Xtreme Racer, The Last Spell, Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon, and Torque Drift 2. Some of these titles are brand-new releases on Steam and the Epic Games Store.
