Popular Manga “Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End” Goes on Hiatus Again

After a brief return from a previous hiatus, fans of the popular manga Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End were disappointed to learn that the series is once again going on hiatus.

The latest chapter, 140, was eagerly awaited by fans and was set to be released in Weekly Shonen Sunday via Shogakukan this past week.

However, at the end of the new volume, readers were informed that the manga has once again gone on hiatus, following a brief return in November. Prior to that, the series took a break in August after a hiatus in May.

Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End first premiered in April 2020, created and written by Kanehito Yamada with artwork by Tsukasa Abe. The English version is officially released by Viz Media, and the anime adaptation’s first season is available for streaming on Crunchyroll.

The series revolves around the elven mage Frieren, who comes to terms with the mortality of humanity after the defeat of the Demon King. Taking on a new apprentice, Frieren sets out to fulfill the dying wishes of old friends, questioning the nature of life and death along the way.

While the manga is on hiatus, a second season by MADHOUSE is currently in production, exciting fans for what’s to come.
