Framework, the innovative modular computing company, made a splash with the launch of its latest entry-level laptop at an event in San Francisco, California. The Framework Laptop 12, the brand’s smallest offering yet, boasts a sleek design with a custom 12.2-inch touchscreen display, stylus support, and a two-in-one convertible design. Founder Nirav Patel described it as the brand’s most user-friendly, repairable, and durable product to date.
Surprising for an entry-level laptop, the Framework Laptop 12 comes equipped with high-end specifications including support for the full 13th-Gen Intel core processor range, 48GB of memory, 2TB of storage, and Wi-Fi 6E. The device will be available in five vibrant color options and features a durable two-toned color scheme.
With a focus on durability, the Framework Laptop 12 is designed to handle bumps and drops with shock-absorbing TPU over-modeled on plastic and a metal inner structure. The laptop will be targeted towards students and young users, with preorders starting in April and sales expected to begin by mid-year.
In addition to the new laptop, Framework also announced updates to its Laptop 13 and Laptop 16 models, as well as the introduction of the Framework Desktop powered by the AMD Ryzen AI Max processor, catering to gaming and AI processes.
