If you’re a fan of Helldivers, then I have a recommendation for you. Make sure to set aside an hour to watch “For Liberty!” – a new fan-made film based on Helldivers 2. This film is incredibly professional, featuring stunning animation and a captivating score filled with familiar riffs.
Not only is “For Liberty!” entertaining, but it also showcases the versatility of the Helldivers while shedding light on the fascist regime hiding behind the facade of Managed Democracy. Surprisingly, there’s even a reference to Drag Race that adds a touch of humor to the film.
In “For Liberty!”, the Helldivers find themselves on a planet where the Automatons are conducting experiments on the Terminids, creating cyborg bugs. But what is the purpose behind these experiments? Follow a female Helldiver as they unravel the mystery, engaging in intense battles with robots and bugs along the way. The film cleverly incorporates the first-person perspective from the game for a dramatic moment and hints at a sequel during the end credits.

Helldivers 2 has been a massive success for Sony, with an Xbox X|S version set to launch this year. On December 2nd, 2025, the Python Commandos Premium Warbond will be released, featuring three new stratagems and a new primary weapon – the AR/GL-21 One-Two. This versatile weapon combines an assault rifle and grenade launcher, offering heavy damage for your primary slot.
Additionally, players will gain access to the M-1000 Maxigun, boasting ultra-high ammo capacity, as well as a new Guard Dog assistant equipped with a flamethrower. New armor, emotes, capes, and cosmetic items will also be available for players to customize their characters.
Aside from “For Liberty!”, an official Helldivers film based on Helldivers 2 is in the works, although details such as the release date, cast, and storyline remain undisclosed.
