Everspace 2 turns Monster Hunter with secret nebula-dwelling kaiju that are essentially living procgen dungeons

Reminiscing about my favorite gaming moment as a young gamer, I can’t help but think back to the final mission of the cyberpunk flight sim G-Police by Psygnosis. Released in 1997, this mission concluded a captivating storyline that began with the outlawing of capital-class spacecraft after a devastating war. Unveiling the secret construction of a massive spaceship by a nefarious corporation, players were thrust into an exhilarating battle inside the ship itself. This moment truly highlighted the unique and immersive experience that video games offer, unlike any other art form.

The evolution of flight simulation technology has been remarkable since the days of G-Police. For instance, the newly announced Titans DLC for Everspace 2 allows players to pilot not only regular spaceships but also gigantic space creatures with procedurally generated interiors. The expansion introduces two new storylines – Dreadnought and Leviathan, each offering hours of gameplay with new challenges, enemies, and resources.

The Leviathan storyline in particular caught my attention, featuring massive creatures roaming through space like living dungeons, ready to engulf unsuspecting pilots. The thrill of exploring these behemoths and discovering valuable resources within their insides promises a unique and exciting gameplay experience.

The Everspace 2 DLC is a promising addition to the game, offering players a chance to embark on epic adventures in the vastness of space. While the release date is yet to be announced, fans can stay updated by visiting the Steam page for more information.
