Empyreal looks like a stunning new indie action-RPG

There is a noticeable trend towards larger and more innovative indie RPGs currently, pushing the boundaries of what we expect in the indie gaming scene. Following the success of Eternal Strands, Empyreal is set to launch on May 8th. Silent Games, the development team behind the game, has released a comprehensive overview trailer to give players a glimpse of the game’s world and systems.

In the seven-minute Game Overview video, creative director Joseph Rogers discusses the game’s key mechanics and narrative. Players can expect compelling stories, diverse character-building options, and the impact of the mysterious Cartograms on their journey through the Monolith.

Empyreal is described as an action-packed RPG where players explore a daunting Monolith and battle its guardians to survive. The game offers a complex narrative blending mythology, philosophy, and transcendental revelations as players lead an Expedition deeper into the structure to uncover its core truth. A demo is already available on Steam for PC players who want an early look!

The game features a unique and intricate combat system, a cast of memorable characters with personal questlines and multiple endings for each, and a beautifully shattered ancient world filled with hidden details. Players can customize their character with a wide range of equipment, collect powerful armor sets, upgrade and modify loot, and unlock new abilities to suit their playstyle.

The game looks incredible, and we are excited to share more with you. Empyreal will be available on May 8th for PC via Steam, PlayStation®5, and Xbox Series X|S. The game is priced at £24.99/$29.99/€29.99, with a 10% launch discount on Steam.
