The perpetual issue in online shooters with leveling systems is hitting a progression wall. Many games offer a solution by allowing players to reset their levels, known as prestiging. Arc Raiders is implementing a similar system, and developer Embark has detailed the perks of prestiging in a recent blog post.
The blog post introduces the Expedition Project, Arc Raiders’ version of prestiging, set to commence on December 17th for a six-day period. Players at level 20 can leave The Rust Belt behind and start anew with a new character, equipped with buffs and advantages.
During the Expedition, items from your stash contribute towards earning extra skill points for your new raider. Restarting resets your skill tree, level, stash, workshop, crafting abilities, and blueprints, but you retain your progress without repeating the initial onboarding process.
Completing an Expedition rewards you with permanent bonuses like the Patchwork Raider outfit, Scrappy Janitor Cap, Expeditions Indicator icon, and +12 stash space. Temporary buffs include a 10% repair buff, 5% XP boost, and 6% more materials from Scrappy. Note that account buffs expire if you choose not to depart on the subsequent expedition.
Embark explains that the optional Expedition Project is their solution to progression wipes, respecting players’ time investment while offering a choice to achieve more or move on. Prepare for December 17th and enjoy Arc Raiding!
