Elden Ring Nightreign’s pre-Forsaken Hollows DLC patch is out now, boosting melee attacks and fixing misbehaving churches

Elden Ring Nightreign’s Forsaken Hollows expansion is set to launch tomorrow, December 4th. Prior to players delving into Limveld’s expansive chasm and experimenting with the new nightfarer classes, FromSoft has released a substantial patch.

The patch, version 1.03, is now live and brings a host of enhancements. Upon reviewing the patch notes, it’s evident that the studio has introduced numerous new features. These include minor adjustments to streamline certain menus, allowing players to easily view their equipped relics and remaining flasks. Additionally, personal objectives will no longer hinder team play, and some shop inventories have been reorganized or expanded.

One notable aspect of the patch is the absence of specific changes tailored for nightfarers. Instead, adjustments to passive, special, and relic effects have been implemented. Melee attacks have been strengthened, while dashing and rolling strikes have received a boost. Conversely, effects that mitigate damage at low health have been reduced, posing a challenge for less resilient character builds.

Considering that Forsaken Hollows is expected to present a greater challenge than the base game, players may opt for a traditional “tanky” setup to increase their chances of survival.

The patch also includes the customary bug fixes. Addressing issues such as the activation of Sites of Grace or Churches and the application of healing effects to allies engaged in combat, FromSoft has ensured a smoother gameplay experience.

For a detailed breakdown of the patch notes, you can refer to the official documentation. The Forsaken Hollows expansion will be available on PC starting at 11PM GMT on December 3rd, corresponding to 6PM EST and 3PM PST.
