EA’s Plans for Next Battlefield Game Revealed
EA’s latest financial report has confirmed their plans for the next Battlefield game. Closed public playtesting has already begun this year, with the official reveal of the game set for this summer. The game is scheduled for release in fiscal year 2026, beating GTA 6 to market as EA had strategically planned.
Andrew Wilson, CEO of Electronic Arts, expressed confidence in their upcoming releases, stating, “Beginning this summer with the highly anticipated reveal of Battlefield, a pivotal step in delivering on our next generation of blockbuster entertainment.”
During a Q&A session with investors, Wilson discussed the timing of Battlefield’s release, emphasizing the importance of launching at the right moment to maximize player experience and franchise value. He indicated that with GTA 6’s delayed release to May 26, 2026, EA’s decision to aim for fiscal year 2026 for Battlefield has proven beneficial.
The next Battlefield game is being developed by Battlefield Studios, which includes Criterion, DICE, Ripple Effect, and Motive Studios. The recent Battlefield Labs playtesting showcased gameplay set in the Middle East, featuring intense battles with tanks and soldiers amidst dynamic map destruction.
