Exciting news for fans of the Dragon Quest series! Square Enix has announced a reimagined version of Dragon Quest VII, originally a PlayStation One game, now coming to consoles and PC. The game follows the adventures of Hero and his friends as they uncover the secrets of the mysterious islands surrounding their home of Estard. By using ancient ruins, they are able to travel to different islands, battle creatures, and collect valuable loot.
Known for its extensive gameplay, the original Dragon Quest VII could take hundreds of hours to complete, especially when completing side quests. This reimagined version follows a previous remake released on the Nintendo 3DS in 2016, which was well-received with a rating of 8/10.
Dragon Quest VII Reimagined is set to launch on various platforms including Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and Microsoft Store on Windows on Thursday, February 5th, 2026.
