Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster cuts “Erotica” genre from photography mini-game

Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster

Capcom recently hinted at details regarding the upcoming Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster, revealing that content is being removed from the game. Specifically, the “erotica” genre from the photography mini-game will not be included in the remastered version.

In the original Dead Rising, players could earn bonus Prestige Points (PP) by taking photos. One of the photo genres, “erotica”, allowed players to capture suggestive images of human and zombie females to earn rewards.

A recent preview of the “Deluxe Remaster” has confirmed the absence of the “erotica” genre from the photo mini-game, promising improved visuals and gameplay enhancements (via Famitsu).

While some fans may miss the controversial feature from the 2006 release, others appreciated its contribution to the outrageous nature of the horror-comedy game, offering a unique experience in a zombie-infested open-world mall.

Adding to the eccentricity of the original photo mode, other genres included horror (zombies and violence), outtakes (humorous events), drama (dramatic moments from survivors), and brutality (zombie or survivor deaths).

Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster is scheduled for release on September 19th for Windows PC (via Steam), Xbox Series X|S, and PS5.
