During the festive season of 2023, Dave The Diver took control of my computer. I thoroughly enjoyed exploring Mintrocket’s charming underwater world as a restaurant manager and ocean explorer, battling sea creatures, uncovering ancient civilizations, and even waiting tables for sushi. Although I hadn’t considered returning to the game for a while, the developers’ recent preview of the upcoming “In the Jungle” DLC has reignited my interest.

“In the Jungle” takes Dave, along with chefman Bancho, to a lush forested location. This expansion allows the diver to roam a jungle village and surrounding forest, assisting the locals in various activities reminiscent of Stardew Valley. From harvesting coconuts to playing a Guitar Hero-inspired mini-game, there’s plenty to do in this new setting.
Don’t think Dave will stay dry, though. The DLC introduces a jungle lake teeming with dangerous creatures like crocodiles, piranhas, and eels. To tackle these foes, players can utilize a new jungle gun with different firing modes. Additionally, the lake is home to a variety of freshwater fish, prompting a shift from sushi to grilling at Bancho’s new restaurant in the village.
Overall, “In the Jungle” offers a more open-ended diving experience for players, with real-time progression and dynamic challenges. While the DLC’s release date has been delayed to 2026, players have ample time to revisit Dave’s original adventures and encounter iconic creatures like Godzilla lurking in the depths.
So, dive back into Dave’s world and see if you can spot any familiar faces or new surprises waiting beneath the waves.
