Darkest Dungeon II DLC and Campaign Expansion Details Revealed
Darkest Dungeon II is set to receive a major campaign expansion for free called Kingdoms, alongside a paid DLC named Inhuman Bondage. Red Hook Studios has shared exciting details about both upcoming additions. The paid DLC, Inhuman Bondage, is scheduled for release in Q4 2024. This expansion will introduce a new Hero with unique trinkets, weapons, palettes, and mechanics. Additionally, a new region equivalent in size to the Sluice will be added, along with a new enemy faction and items.
The Kingdoms campaign will be divided into three parts, with the first part titled Hunger of the Beast Clan. Players will be tasked with defending the realm against a new enemy faction known as the beast men. To succeed, players will need to embark on quests and enhance the inns scattered throughout the realm. Kingdoms will unfold alongside the main Confessions campaign.
In a review of Darkest Dungeon II, Steve commented, “Darkest Dungeon II deserves praise for its willingness to make significant departures from its predecessor. While it retains its signature style, challenge, and strategic depth, the emphasis on roguelike elements and grind may not appeal to everyone. If you have the patience to delve into the intricate mechanics and the resilience to handle inevitable setbacks, this journey is worth undertaking. Just be prepared for a challenging experience.”
