Cyberpunk 2077 gets its most effective horror mod yet: a story-driven rent system featuring landlord selfies

Are you ready to delve into the world of landlords and rent payments in Cyberpunk 2077? Don’t worry, there are probably no landlords around at the moment. However, with the Eviction Notice mod, you can experience a whole new level of complexity when it comes to cyberflats in the game.

This mod, created by DarkFortuneTeller, completely overhauls the housing system in the game. No longer can you simply live for free or pay a one-time fee for permanent access to a flat. Now, you’ll have to deal with regular rent payments to avoid being evicted from one of the five main apartments in Night City. The mod introduces a “story-driven rent system” with over 450 new text messages from real estate agents, chat bots, and landlords.

When you first pay for a flat, considered a security deposit, you’ll receive a message from your landlord introducing themselves. Each character has a unique personality and surprises in store for you. Completing loyalty quests can earn you discounts on rent and even the option to buy your apartment outright. The mod also includes special requests for luxury apartments, such as ordering flowers for your Corpo Plaza flat.

DarkFortuneTeller aimed to add depth and challenge without overshadowing the gameplay experience. The mod introduces rent payments after the game’s first act, giving players the choice to manage multiple apartments and make strategic decisions. The mod’s systems can be customized through an in-game menu using Mod Settings.

If you’re looking for a realistic and detailed mod to enhance your Cyberpunk 2077 experience, Eviction Notice is worth a try. It adds a new layer of immersion and challenge to the game, making your decisions and actions more impactful. To use the mod, make sure to have essential load order staples like ArchiveXL, Codeware, RED4ext, redscript, and TweakXL.
