Creators of Reigns, Streets of Rage and Saturnalia launch Palestinian Voices in Gaming to support indies from Gaza and the West Bank

A new international volunteer network called Palestinian Voices in Gaming has been launched by a group of game industry professionals, including Nerial from Reigns studio, Santa Ragione from Saturnalia, and Lizardcube from Streets Of Rage 4. The network aims to support independent Palestinian developers by connecting them with volunteers and funding partners, providing administrative assistance, and guiding them through the development process from production to publication.

The network was formed in response to the ongoing mass killings and dispossession of Palestinians in Gaza and the mistreatment of Palestinians in the West Bank and Israel. Their goal is to provide professional and economic support to Palestinian game developers so they can share their stories with a global audience.

Rasheed Abueideh, creator of Liyla and the Shadows of War, is also part of the network, working on a new game called Dreams on a Pillow. The network is open for developer support applications and volunteer sign-ups to further their cause.

The gaming industry’s stance on Palestine has been a topic of discussion, especially regarding collaborations with the Israeli military. Microsoft and Xbox are facing a boycott due to their alleged involvement in surveillance activities against Palestinians. The network continues to advocate for Palestinian developers and their stories.
