Cosy Hobbit life sim Tales of the Shire delayed to 2025

Attention all aspiring Hobbits worldwide, there is some unfortunate news to share as Private Division and Weta Workshop have announced a delay for their highly anticipated life simulation game, Tales of the Shire: A Lord of the Rings Game. Originally set for a late 2024 release, the game has now been pushed back to early 2025.

Tales of the Shire is being developed for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC, and fans can look forward to a sneak peek during the upcoming A Hobbit Day Showcase on September 22nd.

The team released a statement saying:

“We are thrilled to welcome you to the tranquil Shire, a beloved corner of J.R.R. Tolkien’s universe. When a new Hobbit enters Bywater for the first time, we want that experience to exceed your expectations.

“In order to ensure that we deliver on that promise, Tales of the Shire will now launch in early 2025.

“We appreciate your patience and ongoing support. Don’t forget to tune in to our A Hobbit Day Showcase on September 22nd for more details about Tales of the Shire and our new release date.”

As a life simulation game, players will immerse themselves in the day-to-day life of a Hobbit. In Tales of the Shire, players can fully customize their own Hobbit character and decorate their Hobbit homes in unique ways. Venturing out into Bywater, players can assist fellow residents with tasks, explore the surroundings, cook delicious meals, and even tend to a garden. The main focus is on creating a cozy life and forging friendships with the community. How delightful!
