The post-launch roadmap for Borderlands 4 includes both free and paid content, with Story Packs and Bounty Packs offering new missions, gear, and characters to explore.
- Story Packs – “Mad Ellie and the Vault of the Damned” introduces a cosmic horror theme with new regions, missions, and gear. The pack also brings a new playable Vault Hunter and cosmetic additions to the game.
- Bounty Packs – Narrative-based missions in Bounty Packs expand the game’s universe and delve into the stories of new characters on Kairos, starting with Rush, the leader of the Outbounders.
Free seasonal events like Horrors of Kairos and Invincible Bosses will also offer new challenges and rewards for players, keeping the gameplay fresh and exciting.
Hands-on impressions from Gamescom 2025 suggest that Borderlands 4 is shaping up to be a promising addition to the series, with potential to draw back players who may have skipped the previous installment.
