Beat Saber support for PS4 and PS5 has ended

Beat Saber PSVR 2

Beat Games has officially announced the discontinuation of support for Beat Saber on both PS4 and PS5. This means that there will be no further updates released for the popular VR rhythm game on Sony’s platforms. However, players can still purchase the game and enjoy it using their PSVR and upcoming PSVR 2 headsets. Any content that has been previously purchased will still be accessible, and existing music packs will continue to be available on the PlayStation Store. It’s important to note that multiplayer support for Beat Saber on PlayStation will come to an end on January 21st, 2026.

According to a statement from Beat Saber, “As we set our sights on the future and prepare for the next chapter of Beat Saber, we have decided to discontinue updates for PS4 and PS5 starting in June 2025. Our commitment to VR remains strong, and we are eager to explore the exciting opportunities that lie ahead for our dedicated Beat Saber community who have supported us throughout the past 7 years.”

What does this mean for players:

This decision to halt updates will not impact your ability to continue playing Beat Saber, and you will still have access to any previously purchased content on the PlayStation platform. Beat Saber will still be available for purchase on both PS4 and PS5, and you can still play or purchase songs and music packs that were released before June 18, 2025. However, no new content will be introduced on these platforms after that date. Additionally, multiplayer functionality will be discontinued on January 21st, 2026, for Beat Saber on PS4 and PS5. Cross-buy support between the PS4 and PS5 base game will remain active.

“We are incredibly grateful for the amazing support you have shown us over the years, and we are excited to unveil what the future has in store for Beat Saber,” added the Beat Saber team in their statement.

In our review of Beat Saber for PSVR 2, Tuffcub described it as “A timeless VR masterpiece and a must-have for every PSVR 2 player. Even after five years since its initial release, Beat Saber continues to offer unmatched value.”
