'BeamXR' Returns Quest's Lost Livestreaming Functionality – No PC Required

Meta made a quiet exit from supporting native livestreaming from Quest to Facebook a few years back, leaving users without official support for other platforms. Now, the early access tool BeamXR Live is here, available for free on the Horizon Store. This tool allows users to stream VR or MR gameplay directly from their Quest to popular platforms like Twitch and YouTube, all without the need for a PC as a middleman.

While it doesn’t offer Facebook streaming, BeamXR opens up new possibilities for Quest users, providing a plug and play solution to capture any game and have chat interaction alongside. The app is compatible with the entire Quest game library, offering a seamless streaming experience.

One of the key advantages of BeamXR is its native functionality, eliminating the need for a PC setup or using casting software like OBS. The developers are actively working on new features and welcome user feedback to shape the future roadmap of the product.

Although the app is in early access, all current features are free to use. The team behind BeamXR is also working on “Pro level features” while ensuring that there will always be a free access tier with no usage limits.

For Quest 2 and above users, BeamXR can be found on the Horizon Store. Experience a new way of streaming VR and MR content with this innovative tool.
