Baldur's Gate 3 patch 7 will add dynamic splitscreen, new evil endings, Dark Urge fixes and lots more kissing

The latest blog post for the seventh major Baldur’s Gate 3 patch mentions the word “kiss” 10 times and the word “bug” 14 times. This ratio reflects the balance between addressing issues like progression blockers and satisfying the fanbase’s desires. Patch 7, set to release in September, includes dynamic split-screen functionality, expansions for Honour mode, modding tools, new endings for evil playthroughs, and tweaks for Origin characters.

The dynamic split-screen feature in patch 7 allows co-op players to merge screens when close to each other, emphasizing the power of friendship. Additionally, the patch enables banter between characters controlled by different players in multiplayer mode.

Honour Mode in Patch 7 introduces Legendary Actions for various creatures, enhancing gameplay with unique actions in specific circumstances. The patch also gives Dror Ragzlin an Arachnid Compulsion ability to unleash pit spiders on players.

The modding toolkit in Patch 7 allows players to customize items, cosmetics, races, classes, subclasses, user interface, and dice rolls for skill checks. Larian is collaborating with mod authors to test the tools before the official release in September. The patch also includes fixes for Origin characters, such as adjusting Karlach’s idle animation at camp.

The new campaign endings in Patch 7 apply to both Origin characters and custom creations, offering cinematic experiences for evil playthroughs. Bug fixes and improvements cater to Dark Urge players, addressing issues like party reactions to companion murders. However, players may be disappointed that kissing Gortash is still not possible in the game.

Despite some limitations, Patch 7 of Baldur’s Gate 3 promises exciting updates and improvements for players to explore. Stay tuned for more updates and enhancements as the release date approaches.
