Arrowhead will target Helldivers 2's "crippling" tech issues now Xbox release is sorted, but would rather not do a "performance-only update"

Shams Jorjani, the head of Arrowhead, the developers of Helldivers 2, recently addressed concerns about performance issues following the release of the Into the Unjust update. He acknowledged that the update had caused stability issues and mentioned that with the Xbox release now complete, more resources would be allocated to addressing these problems.

Since the latest update, players have reported increased crashes, larger installation sizes on PC, and various bugs. Arrowhead is already investigating these issues and working on fixes to improve performance.

In response to player concerns, Jorjani visited the Helldivers 2 Discord server to discuss the performance problems. He admitted that the current performance was not satisfactory and assured players that fixes were being prepared.

Jorjani emphasized that the technical debt accumulated over time was causing the performance issues and that efforts were being made to address them now that the Xbox release was behind them. He mentioned the need for a significant performance-focused update to tackle these issues effectively.

While Jorjani acknowledged the dissatisfaction among players, he remained optimistic about resolving the issues. He compared the current situation to the challenges faced after the Escalation of Freedom update and expressed a commitment to improving the game for the players.

Despite the challenges, Jorjani highlighted the progress made in addressing player concerns and emphasized the studio’s dedication to improving the game’s performance. He reassured players that efforts were underway to address the technical debt and enhance the overall gameplay experience.
