Apple has recently rolled out iOS 17.1 for iPhones, introducing a host of new features to enhance AirDrop, StandBy, and Apple Music, alongside addressing several notable bug fixes. This software update is now available for all users with iPhones compatible with iOS 17.

AirDrop
- Content now continues to transfer over the internet even when stepping out of AirDrop range.
StandBy
- New options have been added to control when the display turns off for iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 14 Pro Max, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max.
Music
- ‘Favorites’ now includes songs, albums, and playlists with the ability to filter to display your favorites in the library.
- A new cover art collection offers designs that change colors to reflect the music in your playlist.
- Song suggestions now appear at the bottom of every playlist, making it easier to add music that matches the vibe of your playlist.
This update also brings the following improvements and bug fixes:
- Option to select a specific album for Photo Shuffle on the Lock Screen.
- Home key support for Matter locks.
- Enhanced reliability of Screen Time settings syncing across devices.
- Resolved issue causing Significant Location privacy setting to reset when transferring or pairing an Apple Watch for the first time.
- Fixed issue where names of incoming callers may not appear during another call.
- Resolved issue where custom and purchased ringtones may not appear as options for text tone.
- Fixed issue causing keyboard to be less responsive.
- Optimizations for crash detection on all iPhone 14 and iPhone 15 models.
- Fixed issue causing display image persistence.
